Event Info

Playtown is a five-day, four-night immersive festival that takes place every year on the third weekend of July. This year, it will be July 17-July 21, 2025. 🗓️🌙 It’s a world we build together, weaving this year’s theme—“Fairy Scales and Dragon Tales” 🧚🐉—into every corner, creating a space where fantasy and desire intertwine. Step into a character, unleash your truest self, or play on the edge of both. 🎭🔥 This town pulses with the creative energy of artists, performers, producers, and organizers, each crafting daring spaces where our community explores expression, connection, and sensuality without limits. 🎨🌈

Our organizing team lays the foundation for Playtown’s most anticipated moments, including the Opening Ceremony, 🎉 the electric Main Event on Saturday, 🌟 and the deeply satisfying Closing Ceremony. 🌅 The Main Event draws us all together for an unforgettable night of passion, creativity, and uninhibited celebration—crafted to honor our theme and ignite the community’s spirit. 💃💫 With tantalizing experiences around every corner, the excitement is boundless—but space is limited. ✨ Apply now to claim your place in Playtown! 🌌🗝️

Volunteers |  Creators | Supporters

There are a variety of roles available for those interested in getting more involved with Playtown. Volunteering is a fantastic way to contribute while gaining a deeper connection with the community. Volunteer tickets range from $200 to $250 and provide a discounted way to attend Playtown.

When you sign up as a volunteer, please ensure you’re fully aware of your role, scheduled shifts, and any time commitments expected of you. We do our best to accommodate availability, but shifts are necessary to ensure our event runs smoothly. While volunteer tickets are not eligible for NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds) options, they are designed to offer an affordable way to participate for those willing to support the event.

Food

PlayTown is a communal food event. Please bring your own food. Everyone's Story Bar will offer some snacks and coffee and you can purchase ice for $5/bag. Many of our communes provide communal offerings of dinners or breakfast and some people submit food related Projects. However, we strongly recommend you plan to bring your own food.

If you missed something the venue is less than a 10 minute drive from a grocery store and it's very likely that the community will have you covered.

Playtown offers limited food options for sale through Everyone’s Story Bar. The central kitchen at the venue is available to reserve for free ahead of time if you prefer to bring your own food.

Water is provided throughout the venue, with outdoor showers and porta-potties available for attendee use. If you’d like to enhance your camping experience, we offer a variety of accommodation options, including:

  • Luxurious cabins

  • Glamping tents

  • Car camping spots

  • RV spaces

  • Airstreams
These options are available as add-ons through our ticketing platform, Secret Party, to help you create a stay that’s comfortable and suited to your needs.

Get Your Tickets for Playtown 2025

You do not need an annual Nexus membership to attend PlayTown. You do get 1 free year with your purchase of a ticket to PlayTown. As a member you receive discounts, and all ticket types are offered on a sliding scale to keep the festival accessible.

Ticket Options:

  • General admission tickets range from $200 to $475, with our break-even point at $325. Sliding scale options mean you can choose the ticket price that aligns with your financial situation. The sooner we sell out, the more we can offer our community at Playtown.

  • Membership tickets are $250–$300.

  • Tickets including membership range from $350–$475.

  • Volunteer tickets are available for those interested in helping out, ranging from $200 to $250.
Tickets are generally non-refundable, but they can be transferred if needed. Your membership also grants discounted access to other Nexus events throughout the year, not just Playtown.

This is a camping event, but you can purchase add-ons for glamping tents, cabins, car-camping, and other sleeping options. Camping is a part of what comes with every ticket.

 Art | Projects

PlayTown is where the sex positive, kink, and immersive art worlds come to experiment, explore, create, and express themselves fully.

At Nexus, we see art as a portal—a way to step into new parts of ourselves and forge deeper connections. Our artist community brings Playtown to life with immersive installations, raw performances, and interactive experiences that embody the bold, playful spirit of Nexus. Whether you’re immersed in the art as a participant or crafting it behind the scenes, Nexus is here to support and celebrate the creators within our community.

If your work resonates with our festival theme and vision, we welcome you to share it with us at Playtown. Every piece weaves into the electric magic we create together, building a space where creativity flows unbound.

Projects:

Nexus and PlayTown - A Portal to the ShapeShifters Realm - is where the sex positive, kink, and immersive art worlds come to experiment, explore, create, and express themselves fully.

PlayTown Priority Proposal Application is now open until February 28th. You can submit a Project for Nexus and PlayTown at any time. Projects submitted before Feb 28th get priority placement on in our town and schedule.

We accept Project Proposals for many different elements of Nexus. The ShapeShifters Realm is the universe that PlayTown lives in. Through the ShapeShifters Realm we build portals like PlayTown. We build roughly 4 Portals a year.

You can also create and bring projects to Nexus events, Transcendence, and Kaleidoscope. Your idea does not need to be fully flushed out. We want to hear what you want to create. You can use this application to create an outline for an idea that you have.

Our community builds Nexus and PlayTown together by submitting Project Proposals.

Here’s how it works:

  • Submit Your Project by February 28th for priority placement.

  • If your project is accepted, we’ll place it on the schedule or map.

  • We’ll work with you to refine your ideas and ensure they meet our Art Safety Guidelines.

  • If your project requires sign-ups, we’ll create space for participants on our Discord.

  • If you are submitting your art for PlayTown our priority application deadline is Feb 28th, 2025

  • Our Creative Director, will review proposals submitted by Feb 28th as a priority. After Feb 28th

  • After submission, we will contact you to let you know if we approve it, need to set up a meeting to review, or have decided  it’s not a good fit for Nexus and PlayTown.

Please review our Nexus Art Safety Guidelines

Communes

Our Communes are theme camps of up to 20 people, each with its own unique contribution to the Playtown experience. A commune gives you a chance to connect with others and enjoy perks like central power, early access to the festival, and priority project scheduling. Each commune must be on-theme and offer something to the community, whether it’s hosting gatherings, offering workshops, or creating an interactive space for all to enjoy. Apply by January 31st for priority placement—spaces are limited, so don’t wait!

If you’re joining solo or don’t have a group, you’re welcome to apply, and we can help connect you with a commune that fits your style and interests.
